YOU CAN CALL ME "SAV"
YOU CAN CALL ME "SAV"
To make a long story short…
I’ve always had a love of words, beginning first with books and slowly transforming into writing in a fuzzy pink diary, jotting down short stories on scrap paper, and daydreaming of becoming an author. I was that one oddball student that loved essay assignments and anything that gave me the opportunity to freely put words onto paper.
Fast-forward to college, I had no idea what I wanted to do, who I wanted to be, or where I wanted to go. All I knew was that I loved fashion, writing, and the digital world, so I got a degree in marketing hoping that I would eventually marry my love of writing with my passion for fashion.
It wasn't until my senior year of college when the word copywriting finally floated into my line of vision. I was working as an intern alongside a very talented UI/UX designer who turned to me one day and said: “hey, have you ever thought about copywriting as a career? You’re really good at it!” I had no idea what copywriting was (or so I thought) but had unknowingly been copywriting for the duration of my internship. I thought writing captions, product descriptions, and words for flyers were all just random fun creative things and not a literal career path.
Not to be dramatic, but that conversation really changed my life. From that point on I knew I wanted to become a copywriter, but I also knew I was going to have to work really hard if I wanted anyone to take me seriously with just a marketing degree and lack of a professional writing background.
So I did exactly that. And the rest is history ;)
